Recently I moved in with a friend of mines house in South Tampa. I love it there. Its close to work, next to everything I need and its in a good neigborhood. I even joined a gym again and have started running and working out again.
Hearing all this you would think everything is going great, and it is for the most part. But yesterday my roommate told me he got this great job offer out of state and will be moving in a month. I am really happy for him but I’m a bit concerned about what I’m going to do now.
Things where just settling down and now we have to man the sails again and get ready for another rough ride through a storm. Well at least it was nice while it lasted.
Now I’m starting to look for apartments or see if I can stay in the house and work something out with the landlord. There is no way I’m moving back to Wesley Chapel and since I joined this gym I have to stay close to where I currently live.
Let’s see what happens. Oh.. and now I have to go buy furniture. Not to say I don’t like buying thing for the house its just I didn’t want to spend the money.

On Sunday my friend Doug invited me to go Geocaching with him. I’ve never done it and it was the first time I had ever heard about it so I thought it would be fun to try it out.
It was pretty awesome. Its was like a treasure hunt but with a GPS. We ended up doing it in Al Lopez Park and walked about 3 miles. We found 4 geocaches with in about 2 hours. (map of our walk to the right, click it to see the whole path we took)
I have to say after this little adventures I can’t wait to do it again and now I want to get my own GPS.
I found afterwards on geocaching.org that there are about 900 geocache locations in Tampa, FL. I think that it’s amazing that so many people have hidden things all over the city.
Who knows… maybe I’ll decided to hide some tresures I have.
Check out the pics I took on my Flickr:

I brought my camera to work today and decided to capture the great views I have from my office (its a cube) and share it with the world. It’s not much but she is all mine, until they fire me.

I currently have a Flickr account that I keep all my personal photos on but I haven’t updated in a while. I’ve been also wanting to make my site and work more searchable so people can find me easy. So what is a designer to do?
Flickr + Design Work = More Search Results
So that is what I did. I have started to upload my work to my Flickr site in hopes that more people will stubble upon my site and blog. I only have a few items up now but more will come with in the week.

I was given a Casio Exilim EX-Z250 5.0 Mega Pixel camera and decided to take advantage of it. A friend of mine at work one day way showing me his Canon camera and how it could stitch pictures on the fly to create a panoramic picture. He also showed me the “Photo Merge” feature in Photoshop CS3 which I had no idea that it making panoramic pictures was built into PS.
I took my new camera.. well new to me.. and started to make my own panoramic of where I recently moved too. Unfortunately my camera didn’t come with the fancy stitching feature built in so I used plain old PS to put it all together. I think it came out pretty well for my first time, take a look.
BTW the guy in the first pic is my roommate Lane in the living room. Second pic is my bedroom. I know theirs not much too it, but its home and I’m simplifying my life (on purpose).

For the last month or so I have been wanting to upgrade my phone to some type of smart phone. I’ve basically ruled Windows Mobile out because it user interface is not very easy to use and you always have to have a stylist. So at the moment its come down to either an iPhone or a Blackberry Pearl.

Both phones have pros and cons but I am torn on which to pick. If I where to get a Blackberry I could get one through Verizon Wireless and not have to extend my contract or pay any fees. The only thing is I’ve never used the Blackberry OS and don’t know if I would like it.
If I get an iPhone I would have to switch wireless carriers and go to AT&T. Pay for the phone, and pay a cancellation fee. I would also have to sign a 2 year contract, I hate contracts.

So I’m at bit torn. I really do want the iPhone even though it would be a boat load of cash to switch. I have also wanted to go to a GSM carrier for a while since it would be much easier to change my phone out when I need it. The iPhone is also going to have a very promising App Store which I’m very interested. But again there is no G3 iPhone yet and that is the major thing holding me back.
At this point I have decided to wait until June to make a decision. WWDC is in June when Apple will officially release the App Store and some people speculate that they will release an new iPhone.
There is only one issue with this… I want it now.

Here we go again with another new blog.
This is maybe my second or third blog I’ve launched. The last one was hosted on Window Live Spaces and can still be seen there. It is called Life Invasion (lifeinvasion.com) and mainly focused on my personal life.
This new I Like to Brand blog is more of a hybrid of my personal life and my professional life. I don’t plan to get as personal as I did on “Life Invasion” but focuses more on my career and on going projects. Of course I do still plan to to mention things going on in my personal life but I have learned that sometimes it is best to keep some details well.. personal.
So its a new week and now I have a new blog. Lets just hope someone wants to read it.
