I’ve been on the fence a lot about how my blog should look. I finally came to the conclusion that clean and simple is the way to go. So I found a nice theme and over the next couple of weeks I will be customizing it a bit.
One of the reasons I picked this theme is because its very editorial looking and easy to read. On top of that it looks great on my iPhone which was one of my goal, to look good on mobile devices.
Enjoy.

I’m thinking about redesigning my blog and I’m look at other themes that are out there. So if you see things change don’t freak out. I’m just playing around to see what I like.
Today I went to CNN.com to read some news and noticed on their front page they have up a clever new ad from Apple. The ad has the “Mac guy” at the top spanning the page in a banner while the “PC guy” is to the right and drags in a fake news article that says “Stop Switching to Mac!”. Like all their ads the “PC guy” talks about how everyone is switching to Mac and how it is frustrating PCs. The best part is you see the “PC guy” in a cut out of the article where the a photograph should be and it says “PC, frustrated as users flee”.
It’s a great ad, if you get a chance you should check it out.
Here is a YouTube video of the ad if you missed it.

Zune Corps is hosting a T-Shirt submission contest where you can win a new Pink Zune. Apparently they are trying to raise money to pay there server costs which is very understandable.
Of course one of the stipulations is that once submitted they own all rights to the design and such.. which is something that a designer like me hates. But I figured what the hell if I win I’ll get my name out there and a new Zune so something good has to come of it.
All work on this t-shirt is original. The Zunes on the T where all recreated (by me) from scratch in Photoshop.
I don’t know about you but I would buy this t-shirt.. even thought I maybe a bias.
Let me know what you think.
About a month or so ago I did a logo for LiveSide.net and they really liked it. They are looking to soon update there site to reflect the new logo and maybe even update the theme of the site to reflect the new look the the Windows Live products.
So I pulled out the old Photoshop and wanted to do an updated logo of the one that I did with them reflect the theme of the new Windows Live products and give it a more polished look.
I came up with 2 slightly different logo designs. One adds a glossy button look to the logo and the other shares the same them as Aero Glass on Vista.
Below you’ll see the new updated logos and the old logos so you can see the evolution of them. Click on the logos to enlarge them (so you can see more detail).
Original LiveSide Logo
My New Liveside Logo Wave 1 (1st attempt)
Updated LiveSide Logo Glossy Wave 2
Updated LiveSide Logo Glass Wave 2
Its not a huge difference but it’s a nice little update that makes it look more professional. You can look forward to seeing this on LiveSide.net sometime in the future.
Because of the project I am trying to develop with my new company I have decided to learn PHP and MySQL. I know very little of PHP so I’m going in for the long haul.
I have started to read “Learning PHP & MySQL” by O’Reilly. It seems to be a pretty good place to start out.
I was going to try to learn ASP.NET but it seem that it is very complicated and very expensive so I’m going with PHP.
Let’s hope it works out.
Ok so I’m a bit bored so I decided to make some mocks for a Zune t-shirt.
Tell me what you think.. there pretty simple but I like them.
This one sports the Zune box color and the logo.
This one shows the connect circle thingy when you want to connect to other Zunes
About 6 months ago I started a company called “Ecxo Corp”. It’s is a small startup which is going to fuel a project that I have been trying to get off the ground for about a year now.
Though I can’t go into detail about what the project consists of, I can tell you that at the moment I am looking for a freelance Web Programmer to start building the project. We are aiming to hire a young individual who maybe at the beginnings of his career and looking to get on the ground floor of a new company that has the potential to be very successful.
We have pitched our idea to a couple of companies and now have affiliated with After Dark Investments LLC., one of the largest entertainment conglomerates in the southeast, and have lots of other well known companies wanting to become sponsors.
If this sounds like something you or someone you know may be interested in please see the Ecxo web site (www.ecxocorp.com) for more details on what the position entails.
Students are welcome and encouraged to apply.
BTW: How do you like the logo?
Here is a new flyer I made for and event I’m planning. Tell me what you think.
