Time to show off!

Just thought I would show off my new set up. I moved my Xbox 360 to my desk so now I will never have to leave my room except to go to the bathroom and to eat something. Its pretty nice to have the 360 right next to my computer so I can look things up or keep track of other things.

I don’t know how long this will last but it seems to be working out pretty well so far.

I know.. I’m a total geek. :P

FINALLY!! It came in.

Finally got my copy of Fable II direct from Amazon with “Release Day Delivery” which awsome. Now I cant wait to go home and play it. I was even debating if I should take the rest of the day off from work to start my Fable Adventure.

But I have to be a good Designer and do my work before play. But you can bet that I will be up most of the night playing Fable II.

The best things come from the heart.

For quite sometime now I’ve wanted to have a similar setup at home as I do at work. At work I have 2 Dell 19″ LCD display while at home I have an Apple iMac 20″. So I started looking at prices for another 20″ wide screen display.

Knowing I needed to get the best deal possiable I called up my step-father in NY and asked him if he had an “in” and knew where I could get a good deal on the type of display I was looking for. He told me to send him the specs and he would look into it.

Come Friday he called me up and told me to be home on Saturday because I was getting a dilivery from FedEx. With the dilivery truck on Saturday morning came a new Samsung 20″ LCD. I was in shock…

He had gone ahead and bought be one and had it shipped next day. I couldn’t believe it. What could I do to pay him back. At the moment the best thing I could come up with was to call him up and give him a big thank you.

I know one thing, I might not have a lot of money to spare but I know that I have a great family behind me. If I ever had to chose to either have all the money I would ever need or just have my family, hands down I would always pick my family.

I Love You Bill, Thanks for being such a great dad and always being there for me. I hope one day I can do the same for you.

I’ve Found My Soul Mate

Xbox360 Love

This weekend was a pretty tame weekend. Since I’m trying to save money I haven’t been doing much these days. I’ve been a good boy and am now taking my lunch to work every day. A ham and Swiss cheese sandwich with mayo and some type of soup.

But that is not what I wanted to talk about. My point is that since I am in this new saving money mode I’ve cut back quite a bit. I’ve combined my websites under one host instead of two, taking lunch to work, got ride of Verizon FiOS TV (I only have the Internet now), turn off the air conditioning when I leave for work, eating at home a lot now, etc. Read the rest of this entry »

Microsoft says “Goodbye to Lazer”

My friend Paul told me about something new going on at Microsoft Hardware and he showed me a teaser MS was playing on there hardware site. It seems they are coming out with a new breed of mice, mouses, however you say it.

He won’t tell me exactly what it is but it seems like it might be this mouse above. I found the picture on a blog that reported it.

Who knows, I guess we will find out today.

Clever Mac Ad hits CNN.com

CNN Mac Ad

Today I went to CNN.com to read some news and noticed on their front page they have up a clever new ad from Apple.  The ad has the “Mac guy” at the top spanning the page in a banner while the “PC guy” is to the right and drags in a fake news article that says “Stop Switching to Mac!”. Like all their ads the “PC guy” talks about how everyone is switching to Mac and how it is frustrating PCs.  The best part is you see the “PC guy” in a cut out of the article where the a photograph should be and it says “PC, frustrated as users flee”.

It’s a great ad, if you get a chance you should check it out.

Here is a YouTube video of the ad if you missed it.

iPhone or Blackberry?

For the last month or so I have been wanting to upgrade my phone to some type of smart phone. I’ve basically ruled Windows Mobile out because it user interface is not very easy to use and you always have to have a stylist. So at the moment its come down to either an iPhone or a Blackberry Pearl.

Blackberry Pearl

Both phones have pros and cons but I am torn on which to pick. If I where to get a Blackberry I could get one through Verizon Wireless and not have to extend my contract or pay any fees. The only thing is I’ve never used the Blackberry OS and don’t know if I would like it.

If I get an iPhone I would have to switch wireless carriers and go to AT&T. Pay for the phone, and pay a cancellation fee. I would also have to sign a 2 year contract, I hate contracts.

iPhone

So I’m at bit torn. I really do want the iPhone even though it would be a boat load of cash to switch. I have also wanted to go to a GSM carrier for a while since it would be much easier to change my phone out when I need it. The iPhone is also going to have a very promising App Store which I’m very interested. But again there is no G3 iPhone yet and that is the major thing holding me back.

At this point I have decided to wait until June to make a decision. WWDC is in June when Apple will officially release the App Store and some people speculate that they will release an new iPhone.

There is only one issue with this… I want it now. :-)

Sorry Paul.. :(

But its the truth.
