Wow!
Honestly… do I have to say anything else?
Simply amazing.
VMware Fusion Beta is now available for download. I have to say this is one of the bad ass piece of software. With there new Fusion feature you can run windows programs directly on your Mac desktop. No more opening a window running Windows and then opening up your program with in the limited space of the window.
Now you can have your Mac programs side by side with your windows programs as if there part of OSX. You have to see the video below to believe it.
Mac OSX and Windows in harmony.. Kind of weird but awesome none the less.
Apparently red is all the rage this summer. Engadget.com is reporting that come June 10th you’ll be able to pick up a red Zune exclusively at Target or Amazon.
I’m really digging the red I think its pretty bad ass.
Because of the project I am trying to develop with my new company I have decided to learn PHP and MySQL. I know very little of PHP so I’m going in for the long haul.
I have started to read “Learning PHP & MySQL” by O’Reilly. It seems to be a pretty good place to start out.
I was going to try to learn ASP.NET but it seem that it is very complicated and very expensive so I’m going with PHP.
Let’s hope it works out.
Though the grace of God (and niceness of my mom (I <3 YOU MOM!)) I now have a LCD HDTV. Whoohoo!
On Sunday I went over my moms house for a nice early birthday dinner. She had made all my favorite foods, Spanish Steak, Yellow Rice, Beans, Brownies, and Chocolate Chip Cookies. It was super yummy!
Then after she had two presents for one. One was in a small bag which ended up being some very nice cologne (BTW I have a VERY dulled sense of smell so I couldn’t smell it). Then there was a 1x1x1 foot box. They (my mom and her bf Alex) told me I could either open what was in the box OR pick what was in the spare guest room.
I didn’t know what to do. What would happen if I picked the wrong one.. I would be devastated for the rest of my life always beating myself up for not picking the other one leading me to a life of crime, drugs, and prostitution, and eventually dying in a drug raid in a shoot out with the FBI. This was a big decision which could affect the rest of my life. I had to choose well.
So I choose the box.
Inside the box was a remote control. I said “You guy got me a universal remote?” The all started to laugh my heart plumped knowing I had made the wrong choice and new the the rest of my life would be spent in the company of depression.
Then Alex took me and told me to close my eyes. I asked “What’s going on?” He said “Let see what we got for you in the room..” I thought I was going to pee in my pants.
He took me to the room and I opened my eyes only to see the essence of God himself a 32-inch VIZIO LCD HDTV.
I’m glad I peed before I opened the presents.
My reaction “Holy F*#&ing Shit!”. Then I shut my month quickly before I my mom would slap me for cursing.
So that’s my story.
I love it.. it’s perfect.. and I WILL make great uses of it.
With the upcoming release of Halo 3 Microsoft will be coming out with a Special Edition Halo 3 Zune. Its basically the same Zune we know and love except it has a nice Haloish theme chases and comes loaded with Halo music, videos and pictures. Nice.. now this makes me want a Zune even more.
I’m starting to get tired of my mobile phone and service. I currently own a LG Chocolate phone with Verizon service. I do like my phone and Verizon has some of the best coverage I have every had between all the networks I’ve been on but they are expensive.
I use my mobile phone for everything. I don’t have a home phone (I tried Skype but it was a hassle and the quality wasn’t all that great), I have a 1500 min plan with basic text messaging and picture messaging. I have noticed that in the last couple of months I have done a lot of text messaging and picture messaging. This isn’t a great thing because I always go over and I end up paying about 15-20 dollars over what my normal bill should be.
Recently Verizon came out with new plans (I said plan not an add on package to your plan) where you can get unlimited text and picture messaging, something that other companies have had for quite a while now. What really bites is the plan is 20 bucks more then the normal plans AND you have to sign another contract to get on it. Unlike other companies where you can just add it on for 15 bucks a month.
So I’m in a bit of a pinch. Now with all the new live services and that I have started to blog, post, message, IM and email more I want to get a phone where I can do all of that without having to pay and arm and a leg.. like Verizon does. Ya I know I can do all that stuff on my current phone but at what price? 50 bucks on top of my plan cost.. no way and I paying that.
But there could be a solution, have heard of a wireless company called Helio’s?
I have been watching this company for quite sometime and was very interested in it because all there plans include unlimited text, picture, mobile to mobile, Internet, IM, My Space mobile, email, and so on. All part of the price of the package and really if you compare prices its only about $20 more on top of a regular Verizon plan with none of that stuff.
But I never switched because I wanted more… and now they have given more. Helio just released a new phone called the “Ocean” it is the worlds first dual slider phone with a regular number pad and a QWERTY keyboard. It has a huge screen and you can do a lot of amazing things on it. All major IM clients and email providers are built into the phone (Live IM, Yahoo, AIM, Gmail, etc). Also all that is in a nice neat package so if I can look at the contact.. lets say Paul (wink, wink) and I see his email, phone number, and all his IM accounts all on one screen.
On top of that you can go online, view videos, take picture (even add tagged GPS info to the pictures), use Google maps with GPS enabled so you can see where you are. All that and its much cheaper then what I have now.
Sounds great huh.. so what is the catch? Well the catch is that Verizon charges $250 bucks to cancel my contract, on top of that the phone is another $295 (I think)+ activation and all that jazz. Its a bummer because if I want to switch I would have to pay around $500 money I don’t have.
So what should I do?
Maybe I should just deal and not be so spoiled… lol
The other day… my friend Chris asked me if I was looking forward to the new Halo game coming out this year.
I answered.. “Umm not really.. I’ve never played Halo nor have I played Xbox for that matter.”
His jaw dropped and he yelled out “What!? What do you mean you’ve NEVER played Halo!?”
I swear I almost feared for my life I felt like I had pissed him off so much by me having no knowledge of Halo that I was going to get my ass kicked. So the next time we met up he brought his Xbox (which was pretty FREAKING big compared to my Slim Line PS2) and both Halo 1 and 2. That night I learned the glory of halo within the first night we beat Halo 1. The plot was ehh.. well not so special to me especially seeing how I love SquareEnix games but the game play was very fun and after settling into the way the controls work it felt very natural.
So after this I became a little obsessed and every time he came over I would ask him to bring his Xbox and Halo. I have now beat the second game and now long to play the third. I have also since them been researching the Xbox 360 and have decided that I will get one in the next couple of months.
But now because of this I now want an LCD TV no smaller then 37″. Damn you Chris…
So in my future I see myself being broke or in debt because I need to now raise about $1,500-$2,000 dollars to play for this very expensive addiction.
Any takers out there? Dang.. I didn’t think so.
Well if you don’t know already I run a print center for the company I work for. At the moment we have two Canon CLC 5100, which are basically copy machines but we use them for production work. That means we have a lot of problems with them and there a pain in my ass.
But come this new year our lease if up on both printers and we have decided to take it to the next level. In January we will replace the both Canon printers with 2 Xerox DocuColor™ 5000 Digital Press.
I’M SO EXCITED!
These are real production machines and all if not most of our problems should go away which makes my job easier and less stressful.
That also means I get a new toy to play with. Fun! Fun! This Xerox is twice the size of our current printers and is suppose to be the bad ass of the block.
I guess we’ll see how it turns out. I can wait to print some of my stuff. Imagine the possibilities!
I currently have Verizon Wireless and I have been in dire need of a new phone. My current phone is an LG VX7000 and I have had it for about 2 years now. My phone before that was an LG VX6000 which had its fate sealed when I ran over it with my car (it was an accident). I have had pretty good luck with LG phone and tend to like them. But my current phone seems to be dieing a slow and painful death. I can no longer keep the battery charged which is very annoying. I will say though that the phone has been thru a lot of abuse. I have thrown it, stepped on it, dropped it, had water on it, and so on and she keeps pull thru.
Anyways on to my point. I had heard a couple months back that Verizon was going to be bring LG’s Chocolate phone (VX 8500) to the states and was quite excited because I had heard good things about it when it was released in Korea. Though the look of the phone changed slightly most of the features where intact and even some new features where added which was a nice surprise. This is really only the second phone which Verizon had released that actually has a “cool” factor, the first being the Motorola RAZR which everyone and there mother now has… including my mother.
So this month I will be getting the “New Every Two” where every two year they give you a $100 credit on your account to get a new phone and I have to decide what new phone I’m going to get. I think I was leaning towards the Chocolate phone but I think it may be a bit big which I do not like.
I sort of wanted a Windows Mobile phone but I don’t like any of the ones Verizon has. There is one that Cingular has, Cingular 8125 Pocket PC, which is small compact and had a QWERYT keyboard that slides out. But I’m not really ready to switch wireless providers just to get a phone.
So I’m not sure if I should wait and see what happens or just jump in and get the Chocolate phone.
